away in new england
It’s a frigid but sunny day in January as I write this post. I’m dreaming of my next getaway (next weekend!) and remembered I never shared my film photos from our trip to New England in October. The trip felt way too quick; I could have driven around for at least another 5 days. The leaves weren’t quite at their peak yet but the farther north we went, the more vivid the colors. Our travels took us to the Boston area, Salem for a day, and up north to New Hampshire where we explored Portsmouth and the towns surrounding Lake Winnipesaukee. It seemed we had just missed the last days of summer activities before things closed up for the fall and winter months. It was all still as idyllic as I had imagined. We will definitely be visiting again.
All photos were shot on my old Olympus 35mm camera. Breaking it out again has been such a joy. These color film photos are untouched and straight from my camera. I had another roll on the trip and, I swear, the witch ghosts in Salem cursed it and the roll came off the spindle inside my camera which has never happened before. The entire film roll is covered in light leaks from me trying to save it by going in a dark closet and rolling it up myself - thank you photography school for this hidden talent.
